I am 50+ years old. I work a full time job. And so does my husband. I learned how to crochet and sew before I was 10 years old. My mom was a seamstress for a dress shop. She and all of her sisters crocheted. Sewing and fiber arts were a necessity back then.
Minimum wage and commission (even with a college degree) do not pay the bills anymore. Even with a simplistic lifestyle. These skills are still necessary!
My small shop and website are full of 40+ years of experience. I work almost full time, in addition to my traditional full-time job, to produce products and content and try to market myself.
This is not really a hobby anymore. I use my skills and knowledge to help pay my expenses and live.
I do enjoy it!
And it may seem frivolous to some people.
But it is a lifetime worth of dying arts, skill and knowledge.
I hope you enjoy what you see here.
And perhaps I can help others learn and enjoy these skills as well!
