Basic Puppet - Rounded nose

Instructions:

Top Jaw (begin with nose color)

1. ML, sc 6

2. Increase in each stitch around (12sc)

3. *Sc next 2 sts, sc inc next st* repeat around. (16sc)

4. *Sc next 3 sts, sc inc next st* repeat around. (20sc)

5. *Sc next 4 sts, sc inc next st* repeat around. (24sc) 

if you started with a nose color then fasten off and continue with main body color.

6. *Sc next 7 sts, sc inc next st* repeat around. (27sc)

7. Sc around even (27sc) Fasten off nose color and begin next round with main body color.

8. Sc around even (27 sc)

9. -  18.

.           27 sc around. FO. 

Bottom Jaw (nose color or main body color)

1. ML, sc 6

2. Increase in each stitch around (12sc)

3. *Sc next 2 sts, inc next st* repeat around. (16sc)

4. *Sc next 3 sts, inc next st* repeat around. (20sc)

5. Sc around even (20 sc)

6. *sc next 4 sts. Inc in next st* repeat around. (24 sc)

7. through 12. Sc even around. 

Do Not fasten off.

Joining the inside of the mouth:

Mark off 12 sts even across the back of the top jaw portion. You will be working slip sts across the next 12 sts on the rnd of the bottom jaw AND through the 12 marked sts of the top jaw to join them together. DO NOT FASTEN OFF

Body - continue working in rnds

1. After joining the jaw pieces with the sl sts, ch 1. Sc in the same st on the bottom jaw as the last sl st, mark this st as the beg of your rnd. Sc the next 12 sts around. Sc in the next st on the bottom (the last st will be in the same st as a sl st) you should have 14 sts around the bottom jaw. Sc the 1st sc around the top jaw in the same st as the sl st from joining. Sc in the next 16 sts the last sc will be in the same st as a sl st from joining. 17 sts around the top piece of jaw. 31 sts total around for the body. Do not join. Continue working in rnds.

8. Sc 31 sts around

9. This rnd you will dec x 3 evenly across the top of the head. Sc18, dec, sc3, dec, sc3 dec, sc last st. (28sc)

10. Sc 28 sts around.

11. Sc 28 sts around.

12. Sc 28 sts around.

13. Sc 28 sts around.

14. Sc 28 sts around.

15. Sc 28 sts around.

16. Sc 28 sts around.

17. Sc 28 sts around.

18. Sc 28 sts around.

19. Sc 28 sts around.

20. Sc 28 sts around. Sl to beginning st of rnd, ch1 do not turn. Begin next rnd in same st as sl st.

21. *Sc/ch3picot, sc* repeat around. Sl to beg to rnd and FO.
